Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychotherapist (Birkbeck)
Parent Infant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (UKCP)
Hello, I am a UKCP accredited Parent Infant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist specialising in early intervention from pregnancy to age three years. I also work psycho dynamically with children and adolescents in schools and with families, both individually or as a unit. During my career I have worked in foster care, with young offenders, school refusers and with autistic children.
I am currently undertaking Doctorate research in psychoanalytic parent-infant psychotherapy at the University of Essex, exploring the question; Is improvement in the nature of internal parental representations a key factor in therapeutic change?
My work is based at two organisations: Croydon Best Start Parent-Infant Partnership, where I am the Clincal Lead, and at West London Action for Children, where I take a lead in early intervention within a cross-modality team of therapists.
I sit on the boards of the United Kingdom Counsel for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Faculty for the Psychological Health of Children and the UKCP College for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. I have also served as a school governor for 14 years.
I bring over 35 years of pastoral experience and training to my therapeutic practice.
